Web Bot Banners
This page explains how to use Web Bot Banners within your account. Web Bot Banners are scheduled HTML announcements that display at the top of web bots.
With this, you can display temporary messages, promotions, or notices to users interacting with your web bots (e.g., "Holiday hours: Closed Dec 25-26" or "New features available!").
Creating a Banner
Banners are accessible from the Settings page under the “Banners” tab.
To create a banner, click the New Banner button and specify the banner's name, content, start date, and end date (the start/end dates are when the banner should display). You may live preview the banner you're making to see how it would display in the chat.
Currently, the content takes in raw HTML, though harmful scripts are automatically stripped when saving.
Note that the active toggle is a master on/off switch for showing a banner, and also whether it is available for assignment.
Deploying the Banner
When doing a web deployment for a chatbot, select from the banner dropdown under the advanced deployment options. Or you may edit the web deployment from the Chatbots page, go under Presentation Attributes, and select the desired banner from the dropdown.
The banner will only show when it is active and within the start/end dates. The user may also click the 'x' button to close the banner during the chat.
